Empty Cradle publishes a bi-monthly newsletter which is mailed at no cost to our members.  The newsletter gives information on current happenings in Empty Cradle, as well as articles of interest to parents experiencing the loss of a baby, poems, and stories and letters written by our members.  We also include a remembrance column where parents may choose to have their baby remembered on their birth and/or death date.

If you would like to receive our newsletter free of charge, please visit the Newsletter menu.

Parents can receive individual telephone support through a network of trained resource parents, each of whom has experienced a loss.

 Our message phone number is (619) 595-3887 or (951) 686-LOSS (5677).

and is available 24 hours a day.  Please leave your name, phone number, and a short message.  A parent contact will return your call as soon as possible.  You may also receive information and be added to our newsletter mailing list.

Community education is another focus of our group.  Our parents have given numerous presentations to local hospitals, schools, and civic organizations in an effort to improve professional and community awareness of the needs of bereaved parents.

Our presentations usually take the form of a panel of 2-3 parents who give a brief overview of Empty Cradle, then all the parents share their stories.  Emphasis is placed on what was helpful and what was not helpful at the time of and following their loss so that professionals can better help other parents.

If you would like more information about scheduling a presentation by Empty Cradle parents, please visit the Community Education Request menu.
